  • Jock Itch or not to Itch ?

    The Jock itch is one of the most difficult type of fungal infection to get rid of. It caused by Tinea Cruris one of many fungi family members, a ringworm fungus which looks like huphae and multiplies on dead cells of epidermis, hair and nails. According to public information the Jock-itch mostly spread out in warmer regions with tropical climate because moist and warm weather are big " help " to Tinea (Jock-itch) to multiply in immense numbers over very short period of time.

    It was published in many medical publications that the Jock-itch does not occur in the body areas such as scrotum and penis even though it sometimes can be misdiagnosed with The Tinea Cruris is very contagious however and most common areas for this skin infection are groin, skin folds, buttocks, upper thighs, anal area and not often pelvis. The symptoms can differ a little from one case to another but the most common are:

    - Itching and rashes in the inner thighs, genitals, buttocks, anal areas, skin folds and groin.
    - The edges of the affected areas have scaly, distinct, sharp and vaguely raised patches. Sometimes bumps also appear which look like blisters.
    - The affected areas also have burning sensations and inflammations.
    - Peeling, cracking or flaking also occur on the different affected areas.
    - Red brown color appears on the affected skin surface, which is conspicuous with the color of the other parts of the body.

    There are many ant-fungus treatments available but here are some of the things or tips if one must follow on daily bases in order to help the treatment of Jock itch:

    - Wear loose-fitting underwear and clothing.
    -After exercising make sure you take a bath.
    - Keep the areas of body hygienically clean and dry.
    - Do not use towel, comb, hanker chiefs and clothing with anyone as it is a contagious infection.
    - Always wash your exercise clothes after every use.
    - Avoid using deodorant soaps.
