    Hi everyone
Hi everyone! I wish that I would have found this site about a month ago.I'm 19 years old now and my acne got worse when I entered high school. I've tried everything except Accutane because I suffer from depression and my doctor warned me it could make it worse. Hopefully Ovante cream will help to stop it because i heard a lot of good thinks about it from my classmates.

    Newbie here
    Hi there,
I'm a new here, although I've been reading posts for a couple of days. My history with acne in a nutshell is that I've struggled with it since my teens, got cystic acne in the years of 18-24 and scarred badly. I'm still (at 26yrs old) extremely oily, and I'll break out occasionally. I think one of the reasons my scars are so bad is that I attempted to bake in the sun to help the acne. It seemed that if I had a red face, it would just match the cysts. Yep, bad idea. And I refused accutane as a teen, a move I now regret but i was so scared!!
After seeing a (really bad) photo of myself at a party I freaked out and went to a "spa-treatment"-type center attached to the my dermatologist's office. They sold me on the Obagi system (5 steps, ugh!) and I have noticed a change for the better. The tone and texture of my skin has improved and the breakouts are much less frequent and troublesome. For anyone that knows about the system, I mix tazorac .1% gel with the "blender" at night. This, I believe is the strongest Tazorac offered. The head honcho of the center got me all fired up about Pixel and I have a tentative appointment at the end of this month. Then I started reading the reviews here......
So today I went to see my derm who I trust and I feel will give it to me straight. I told her about the things I've seen here (people needing 5+ treatments, not getting significant results.. etc) and she said, "yep". Then I asked her about the collagen rebuilding that takes place with the procedure and she said, "yes, that's the theory they're pushing". She said that pixel might possibly give me some general improvements, but wouldn't do much for my deeper scars. She did say that she has noticed a huge improvement in my skin since I've done the obagi, which makes me feel like I'm not being taken for a complete ride at that place!
She then proceeded to zap my sebaceous hyperplasia lesions with an electrode device while I pondered the pixel procedure. Ouch! Talk about negative reinforcement!
So now I'm wondering what to do. Do I spend the $1200.00 on 3 sessions of pixel when I've read time and time again that it won't do anything substantial? I don't want to be a naysayer and then regret not doing it for the rest of my life....
I'm grateful for this forum, I feel like a weight has been lifted just by writing this post!
Good luck to everyone here, it's nice to know I am not alone.

    Hello
Hello, 18 male from philippines. Found this site while surfing the net, I felt this is a very nice site, has a lot of usefull information and some products too. Acne is my problem now and i think i will visit more often here. Been an mild-acne sufferer as soon as I hit 15 and trust me, life suks since they started. Guess its in my mom genes becuz she used to suffer from acne when he was young and so does his siblings (all of 7 of them ). Also its the opposite from my dad side. Hopefully my acne healing process would be of any help to this site.

Hey all! My name is Dee, and I just joined today. I'm 21, and have never had trouble with my skin, until NOW! I tried Proactiv, and although it stopped the breakouts, it dried out my face like a raisin. I tried Mary Kay, and it made my breakouts worse, and I got a face full of blackheads and whiteheads. I finally saw a dermatologist two weeks ago, and I'm on a regimen of plexion cleanser twice daily, retin-a micro 0.04% at night, and duac gel 1%/5% in the morning. It's been a little up and down, but I'm optimistic that this is going to work!

    Frastrated with acne
    Hi,
I'm new here...first time. I am 29 and I am to the point where I don't want to go in public because of my chin. I'm very frustrated! Long story short, in my 20's I got real bad. They thought about Accutane, but put me on the pill instead. It helped some. I wasn't horrible, but I have never had a zit free day that I can remember. In Feb. I was put in the hospital with blood clots in my lungs. Guess what, no more pill EVER!! What's a girl to do. It was the one thing that was helping my face. So I decided on an IUD. One of the lovely side effects is acne. I have them all on my jaw line, and some on my chin. Today I feel horrible about it! I don't want to get bad like I as in my 20's. I know my husband loves me, but I am tired of them now! In the past I tried it seemed like everything. The antibiotics, the Retin-A, Proactive, chemical peels, Cleocin, Azalex, Diffrin. None seemed to help much. I feel like I am wasting my money on stuff that does not work. I have ordered Ovante acne cream The ABC Dan's and it should be here in a couple of days i hope, but once again I'm nervous that it won't work either.

    Another acne member
    Hi,
I have had acne moderate acne since I was 13 years old. It was never very severely inflamed or cystic but I got a lot of blemishes, bumps, pimples everywhere (including back and other parts).
Also I have had somewhat of an obsession when it came to squeezing pimples!! In retrospect I wish I had left my acne alone but what is done is done I guess... Anyhow, this left me with a much bigger problem in the end than the actual acne; I have lots of PIH-marks and the skin on my face is very blotchy. My back and upper arms are covered by dark brown spots which has become a big concern for me these days. Its very embarrasing!
So I'm ready to do something about this, there must be ways of improving my skin's appearance!!

    New here and tried everything
In my 10 years of experience, the dermatologists do not know what they are doing. They prescribe medicines that only work on the surface, instead of diagnosing what is going on in the inside of your body. They only try to treat the outside symptoms. I've tried every prescription, including Accutane. It didn't work on me. What a nightmare! That stuff is horrible, with terrible side effects.
Right now I'm using Murad products as a face washing regiment. I don't really see a difference using it. The only thing that has worked for me is changing my diet. I've cut out sugar and that has improved my complexion significantly. Although, I'm still not completely clear. I would love to not have to wear makeup anymore! I think that I'm allergic to something, maybe wheat? I guess that will be my next experiment.

    New here
Hello. My name is Betty. I am female, 16, and have been fighting acne for about 3 years now. I first got acne when I was about 11. It really hasnt bothered me much till now.
About a year ago it got really bad, to the point were I went to see a Derm. He perscribed me Adoxa, and it didnt really do much. It only seemed to disperse the acne throughout my body--instead of it being only on my forehead, it went to my cheeks, back...even in certain areas... It wasnt bad on the main area, but it wasnt good either.
My skin finally healed and the scars began to fade. About a few weeks ago, I ran out of my perscription of Adoxa. My regimen for the past year has been only water, every evening .(all of those creams and masks just havnt worked much, in some cases they have only made things worse, so I decided to give my sensitive skin a break and go back to basics) Whats weird is my whole face/body was really doing well without the stuff. My back healed very well, my cheeks completely healed, my nose, chin, ect. My forehead was even looking normal. Then...a fiasco struck. That last teeny bit of Adoxa finally left my body, and my forehead just exlpoded in whiteheads. Awful stuff. I used an overnight mask in desperation, but that really didnt do much at all. It has been about a week sense it happened, and things look a little better. I have just learned to keep an optimistic attitude about things and your looks dont really matter when it comes down to it. But...looking in the mirror and seeing that mess...? It really levels your self-esteem.
So...Im on a quest for answers, and to learn more about skin ph and what factors could really effect your skin health, and to meet new people here too. So, hi to all, and forgive me for typing so much...

    Peace all
    Hello everybody.
After some reading I thought I would drop by and show you a couple of pictures with me and my depressing acne.
    1: http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/8721/acneac5.jpg
    2: http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/927/acn2vx0.jpg
As you can see it is very bad.
Though, it never really restricted me from being an active guy. I've had a couple of girls, and generally I do pretty well socially. I never thought about the acne, and was just being myself and had a great time. But the latest couple of weeks I have stayed at home not wanting to do anything, turning away my face when talking with people. Generally it is starting to restricting me from being happy and from just being myself.
Now it has come to a point where I must stop lying to myself and realize that this is very bad.
I browsed the forums and looked at other pictures, and I can see that my incident is a lot worse than all the others. I have not seen anyone here with worse acne than what I have.
    Peace brothers and sisters.

    i m new too
Hi there. Well I'm new to this site, so, just figured I'd introduce myself as everybodyelse did.
I've been suffering from acne since I was 10 or 11 years old, and I haven't had a single day of clear skin since. I've been on all sorts of OTC creams, gels, lotions, you name it. My parents say my skin isn't bad enough to take me to a dermatologist, but my acne hurts me more on the inside than it does on the outside!
I want to be able to enter my senior year of high school without acne and to be able to take senior pictures without ugly pimples on my face. My goal is to get clear over the summer. I'm hoping that the messages in this blog will guide me and get me on the right track, but I don't really know where to start!
So i could use some little help.

    still fighting my acne
Just wanted to say hello to all you guys. I'm a 29 y.o. male and had acne since I entered highschool, so around 13 years of acne. Been through the usual medications and topicals. In my early twenties I broke out severely which led me to use Accutane. I still have physical scars from the initial breakout months.. yup.. scars. I broke out so much around my jawline that it left scarring that kinda looks like burn scars. They've become less visible as the years pass, but no acne grows around that area anymore and neither does anything else lol. Nowadays, my acne, I would say, is mild to moderate. I find that my acne doesn't last very long, but it's "inactive" stage last for several weeks, so sometimes it looks like I have acne but they are actually the post-acne red spots. Sometimes they even retain its swelling even though its inactive, so I'll have this small lump on my face. Which led me to this site.. I'm giving the Apple Cider Vinegar thing a try, and putting on my inactive acne red spots. I hope it helps.. sadly, I fear that 13 years of acne has made me more self-conscious when I'm around people even when I know there is nothing bad about my face except for some small acne that nobody notices anyways I'm at a point where I care about my acne, but I kinda don't at the same time which is really relieving

    missed my diet
hey piple im new to this ,just found the site.
iv had acne since 5 years ago and it has its up n downs (it has its own mood, sort of)
iv always been told that diet plays a big role in acne, one of which is fried foods (such as mcdonalds fries etc) and cheese. is it true that i should watch out with them and limit myself to one chip a week? chocolates? i have friends that are the same age as myself and have a choc bar everyday without a problem
im getin sick of my limited diet! and i miss mcdonalds

    Hi
Hi there. I'm 33 years old. I never really got bad acne when I was younger, but the older I get (definately after age 30) the worse it gets. Every year it seems worse and worse. Right now I'm covered on my jaw, my neck, my back, my chest, and with summer coming I don't even want to put on a bathing suit because I'm so scarred up not to mention ugly, pimply, that I'd rather just stay inside and hide. When I look at all the other women my age with perfect (or at least non-acne) skin, I could just cry. I think it just makes me look nasty and trashy to have a face that looks this bad. Like I don't care, or I'm dirty or something. I know that isn't true, but I wonder if that's what people think when they look at me?
I've tried just about everything over the years, but have never gone to a dermatologist. I keep thinking I will but then I starting thinking what is a derm going to do that I haven't already done? I've got cysts and regular pimples.
I'm just tired of acne and I'm tired of fighting it. I want it to go away.

    Hello happy people!

What a cool website and so much information on acne! I'm so glad to have found it!
I'm 25 years old. From a teen to last year I would get no more than 5 at a time - ever, so of course I thought I needed to wash my face more or something. Except for right before menstruation - then I got a few more.
    Misconceptions I had:
    • Skin has to be oily for acne. Even though my skin has been bone dry my whole life, I still believed it was oily because I had acne. Amazing what we believe even even though we clearly see contrary evidence
    • Acne is from poor hygiene. Even though I get more before menstruation. Um, hello?
since about 10 months ago the acne just been quite a disaster. More would come before the others disappeared, then more and more. Now it's just ridiculous. I’m 25 for crying out loud. What’s going on????
I knew it was affecting me too much when I wanted to cancel meetings with new clients and even with clients I've been working with for years. Just try owning your own business and not having meetings.
The most success I’ve had is by taking a dietary supplement good for digestion. I thought I was just helping daily digestion, but lo and behold I was nearly acne-free after about 2 weeks.
After recovering from wisdom teeth removal I'm almost back on schedule with the supplements, so I am hopeful for the same effect.
Reading personal stories throughout this site has been quite moving for me. You are true pioneers against this cryptic circumstance of our lives. One thing this site has given me, even before posting anything, has been a sense of community. I went out to dinner this evening with my head high, knowing that I'm not alone.
    Sincerely, Emy

i red a little about ovante acne cream on one of the web sites and was just qurious
about the technology. Why is it different from other acne products? I know your
acne regiment made with natural ingredients but what about the technology?
I think you should have more information about the technology for everyone to read.
And also, what type of sulfur is used in your acne anr rosacea regiments?

Burned by Proactive and other BP products
Newbie here, first time, just found your blog Ovante. Just checked our your line of acne products, reviews and comments on acne, natural cleanser and moisturizer. Seems pretty good as long as your products are natural i will go ahead and give it a try. I was BP products for a while. Proactives, Dans acne regiment, now Clerasil so i guess it is time to switch and see if natural products will work. I had so many side effects from BP, i think a lot of people do get side effects from Benzoil Peroxide...how do u avoid them any ways, the side effects...
I have a question though befor placing the order - Could you let me know if it is better to buy just Ovante ABC cream for acne and just use it or sould i buy all three products as you suggest on this site.
You see, i hate all those 3 steps programms, i would rather just apply acne medication and be done. So , please let me know.
    Thanx

    Angie
    Angie,
you don't have to buy our acne cleansed and yhe moisturizer so if you chose to use the other brands of cosmetics, make sure you are using the natural products and not chemicals or hormones.
For best results however one should use the acne medication. the baturl cleanser and the moisturizer.

Hi, I've been struggling with acne for about 5 years now. I've tried everything out there and I was just about to loose hope when I came across skinimprovements.com and the ovante skin products.
I've been on ovante acne cream for a little over 3 weeks now. So far So good. things a looking much better now. and i like it a lot because the abc is not like many others, it is just one step acne treatment, no need to apply other skin products and it has no BP in it and it is natural.
    Thanks!

adoxa and klaron for my acne
Hi! I had mild acne for 6 years, I did get an occational cyst but not to the point where i would go crazy, at one point I finally went to a derm and she prescribed me two things: A topical called Klaron and a pill called Adoxa. I didnot mind the klaron but the pill ??!! i don't like to take pills...then after thinking about it i tsaid what the hell ive tried EVERYTHING else so why not? to make the story short, after about a week my face was completly cleared! So it's been a year now and im still clear but I do realize that what works for me doesn't work for everyone.I don't even take the pill anymore I just use the topical and I pay 20 bucks for it every 2 months. Hope that helps to others, so plz post this in your blog.

    it might help you

Just noticed this place and here is what did help me...hopefully it will help somebodyelse:
I was on antibiotics and yeast tablets from age 14 to 24. During which, when they ran out, the acne (large spots and some boil-like lumps) would get much worse. So I kept refilling the prescription via the doctor.
Then I gave it up and just stopped everything. My face became a mass of boil-like spots and I didn't leave the house for few months. Then spontaneously, it returned to about the same as when I was taking the tablets. At least I was off them.
Then, a couple of years later I fixed it. I found that by rubbing a wet bar of soap into my face and then washing it off with warm water as many as 6 times in a row - until every part of my face 'squeeked' when I stroked it with my fingers - then the spots completely stopped appearing virtually from that day on. It was like the water had never reached my face before because of a permenant layer of grease that had now been removed. After about a month of this multiple washing procedure, my face started to crack up a quite a bit (like an old oil painting), so I moderated the washing a little, (still doing about 4-consequetive washes) which resulted in the odd spot but manageable. Then within 6 months, no more cracking (face probably adapted) and no more face spots since then.
I realise that that was just my case. But maybe it might help someone...
