    Oracea be aware
    Hi,Ovante blog.
Just want to post this info about new oral drug Oracea. I 've used it for a while now but here is some usefull info for you who thik of starting using Oracea.

Oracea is a 40 mg capsule of doxycycline, containing 30 mg immediate release and 10 mg delayed release beads. The dosage of Oracea differs from that of doxycycline used to treat infections. To reduce the development of resistant bacteria as well as to maintain the effectiveness of other antibacterial drugs, Oracea should be used only as indicated. Traditional tetracycline contraindications, precautions, and warnings must be considered prior to the use of Oracea. This drug is contraindicated in people who have shown hypersensitivity to any of the tetracyclines. Doxycycline, like other tetracycline drugs, can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. Tetracycline drugs should not be used during tooth development (last half of pregnancy up to age of 8 years) as they may cause permanent discoloration of the teeth. Photosensitivity manifested by an exaggerated sunburn reaction has been observed in some individuals taking tetracyclines. Although this was not observed during the duration of the clinical studies with Oracea, patients should minimize or avoid exposure to natural or artificial sunlight. Safety of Oracea beyond 9 months has not been established.

Rosacea Treatment And Acne Advice Guide

Do you want to know what one of the greatest confidence
breakers is? It's not a junky car, a job making minimum wage,
or a miniscule bicep. These are not that big of a deal. In
fact, all can be remedied with proper time and drive. I am
referring to a burden that attacks you from puberty. Yes indeed
persons, it's the spot. Do you have any? Well, I'm sure if you
do, you don't want them to stick around.
Heck, no one wants to deal with blackheads, whiteheads, and
blemishes. This suffering badly changes the human confidence
level. Some people even struggle with acne on a whole different
level. Imagine if you had rosacea and pimple. What acne
medication or treatment would you turn to? You can bet on Oxy
10 not doing the trick. These sorts of remedies are most likely
too drying. This is why you would probably have to find an acne
    rosacea treatment.
I don't think many people have even ever heard of an acne
rosacea treatment. Typically people don't suffer from acne
breakouts along with rosacea. Rosacea is a skin disorder that
causes your face to become red, dry and itchy. Once a girl who
had it, and she had to use a special medication prescribed by a
    doctor or dermatologist.
Fortunately she did not have acne as well, so she didn't
require an acne rosacea treatment. Therefore if you think plain
acne or plain rosacea is bad, imagine if you were battling both
like some individuals do. I always like to let people in on my
favorite little secret. Things can always get worse Okay, so it
may not be a secret to many of you, but to some people it is.
One of the key problems that people encounter when it comes to
acne pimples and rosacea is the treatment.
As opposed to making a doctor's appointment and get a new-age
acne rosacea treatment, they try to deal with the suffering on
their own. This is not a wise course of action. Go to an expert
and get an educated assessment. This way you can achieve the
perfect acne rosacea treatment for your condition.
Now, if you weren't already aware of it, one of the best places
you can get knowledge on this subject is cyberspace. Just pop
open your Mac or PC and punch in the keywords, acne rosacea
treatment. Soon you will be well on your way to a greater
    understanding of treatments and cures.

    Raw berries and rosacea
This may just be a coincidence, but I, for the past three days, have
been eating raw berries--a cup or so of blueberries and raspberries
once a day, and a small handful of raw cranberries twice a day--after
reading this thread. I figure why not, it's too easy to try. My
rosacea today and yesterday looks very very good. Now, it looks like
this often during the warm spring and summer months, but never in the
winter, and it's still been very cold where i have live. the matter
of fact, my rosacea right before i started taking the berries looked
the worst all winter, and now it looks the best all winter. if the
berries had something to do with it, i can't wait to see how it will
look next week when weather is fore-casted to reach the upper 50s finally.
Like i said, it may have been a coincidence. I know it's hard to
believe since it's so simple, someone surely would have discovered if
these berries help that much; but who knows, maybe no one made the
connection. And seriously, who eats raw cranberries twice a day? i
    mean, yuck.
so i say others here should try this and report back. My rosacea is
only red cheeks--never any p&p's. so maybe it will not work for
everyone, or maybe it may need to take a longer time.

    Rosacea and pregnancy
I have had two sons, one is 16 months and the other is 4years. During my
pregnancies my rosacea was improve due to the increased amount of steriods
the body produces during pregnancies. Part of the reason for the increase
is to protect the fetus, so the mothers body doesn't attack it as a forgein
object. However, towards the end most woman get redder in the face due to
hormones. I would say my rosacea is moderate at times severe. My face is
    always red, the intensity changes.
I'm very interested in the red light therapy.

    Pregnancy and rosacea
Caithlin: I asked the same question about pregnancy a while back and
was surprised that a lot of women say their rosacea was better during
pregnancy, so perhaps the same will be true for you :D
I just had my son 7 weeks ago. I'd say pregnancy was a very slight trigger for my rosacea, but only for short periods..probably due to hormone shifts and such. I started red light therapy with impressive results, so overall it actually improved a bit. For a week leading up to the birth I remember my face heated up more easily, then the rosacea disappeared for about a week afterwards. Now I'm back to very mild rosacea as long as I follow my routine and watch triggers.
    Good luck to you!

Boric acid - is it safe??
I'm new and looking for a natural treatment. Is it safe to put Boric acid on your skin? This seems unsafe even in small doses.

ZZ cream and Danger of Boric ACID
zz cream is the unofficial name. I haven't tried it or ordered, just
read a few comments here about it. Its full name is "Zhongzhou Zinc
oxide and sublimed sulfur ointment", hence the ZZ moniker.
I'm a bit of a skeptic and maybe even a grump about some products and
some of the folklore surrounding zz. Firstly I'd like to see some
proof that such a simple formulation can kill demodex and secondly the
whole link between demodex and rosacea is purely theoretical at this
    time.
We are told on the web site that "This ointment has been thoroughly
clinically tested and proven capable of killing demodex mites and
bacteria, alleviating the symptoms associated with demodecidosis like
acne, demodectic rosacea..." I'm not saying that this isn't true, just
that I'd like to see the proof.
Nonetheless this formulation of "Zinc oxide, Sublimed sulfur, Menthol
Boric acid 2%, salicylic acid 0.5%, Dimethiconum Composite, And 3 more
    herbs which are a secret"

    Zemned and my rosacea
I would like to share my experience with Zenmed - I have tried Zenmed and actually stopped using it about two weeks ago. The only reason I stopped using it was because it contains parabens and I try to avoid them. By the way, I only tried Skin Serum for Redness reduction, or something like that.

    Re: Zenmed and my rosacea
Yana, I also tried Zenmed for a while. It didn't irritate my skin, But their control serum felt really gluggy and thick and didn't really improve my skin in any way. Pevonia worked the best for me. It also contains Titanium Dioxide for mild Sun Protection. I found through the years that creams based on natural ingredients are the most effective. I am using Ovante now for about a month....so far, i am happy with it.

Rosacea - methyl, ethyl, propyl and butylparabens
I noticed you are trying to avoid Parabens. How did you discover a
sensitivity to these? It would be extremely hard for you to avoid
them as the preservatives are found in basically anything on the
shelf! (methyl, ethyl, propyl and butylparabens)If you are looking for an alternative, Skin Actives have a
preservative that is apparently suited to the sensitive skin that they use in their Rosacea Control Serum with EGF. It's called Liqui- Par Optima.

    Lalisse for rosacea
    Hi everyone
Has anyone here ever tried the Australian product Lalisse? I was
walking past a chemist and there was this huge display about it. I got
a free sample and also went on the webite to have a look. It is for
acne but on the website it states that it can also be effective for
treatment of rosacea and other inflammotary skin problems.
Well I am giving it a go on my pimples and rosacea bits - I'll try
anything that's free! Will let you know if it is any good.

    Re: Australian "Larisse"
I've tried it for my rosacea and did not notice any improvements. I personaly think that if every time they advertice a product that can be used for not one but a few different skin disorders is not a good product, but you can always try it maybe it will work for you...

    RLT - treatment for rosacea

The biggest difference between the small lamps for home use and the large
machines used by hospitals, laser and IPL specialists, etc., is that theirs
are mostly very powerful and ours are mostly very weak. It takes many months
of cumulative use to really make much impact on skin conditions.
That's why if anyone attributes dramatic improvement in their rosacea to
very brief use of RLT, the lamps probably don't deserve any credit and the
improvement is more likely just part of rosacea's natural cycle of
unpredictable periods of improvement and deterioration, or else other
treatments used at the same time, or earlier. (That is why dramatic
deterioration in rosacea blamed on brief use of RLT also meets some
    scepticism.)
However,There are never any guarantees and RLT probably doesn't suit everybody, so
if you're interested, you really need to experiment with it, not just rush
in. If you overreact to sunlight or artificial lighting then it's obvious
that RLT could cause you a problem, even if only short lived."
"I always think if we do not know what causes rosacea, how will we ever know
for sure why certain treatments work?"
    Wise words, imho. :)
    Kind regards,
    Robert Lee

    benzoyl peroxide terrible!!
     Hi everyone,
Thanks a lot for these posts. I was going to try benzoyl peroxide
sometime soon, I had no idea it was so terrible!!
So... does anyone have a suggestion about how a rosacean should
handle a lone pimple/pustule/whatever, specifically on the nose? My
rosacea is basically completely under control, but once a week I'll
get a pimple or two on my nose, usually in exactly the same 2
places. I can see that a pore is getting clogged right before it
turns red, but I'm not sure about what to do about it. Zinc seems to
have no effect whatsoever on it (and maybe is making the problem
worse by clogging the nose pores more quickly). What could a
rosacean safely do about a lone pimple/pustule/blackhead? Pop it (or
is that exactly the wrong thing to do?) Is there a creme one can dab
on that anyone can recommend, a safe alternative to peroxide? Or....?
For whatever it's worth, I made a few posts to this blog a month ago
about an anti-allergetic drug called Talion. I'm still taking it,
along with vitamin B and C every day, and applying zinc oxide
ointment twice a day - and I have virtually no visable rosacea at
all, it's completely cleared up (other than the annoying and semi-
embarrassing weekly nose pimple or two). If I stop either the zinc
oxide ointment (I really put on a lot at night) or the Talion, my
face gets very red and messy within 2 days, so I'm pretty sure that:
    1. I have a pretty bad case of rosacea
    2. The combination I mention above is really effective and directly
responsible for clearing my face up.
If anyone on this blog ever has the opportunity to try it, I'd be
    really interested in the results.
    Thanks for any advice,
    Mo

    Roaccutane sideeffects
I read that Roaccutane has some severe side effects - depression, liver/bowel damage and others. Has anybody any experienced any of these, and are they as bad as stated on sites I have visited. Also has anyone went through surgery for Rhinophyma, and was it successful?
    Thanks for any help.

    try Sea salt
First off is little bit about myself - I am 32 yr old male with acne problem going back to when i was a teenager. My face, back, chest, arms all affected it was relly bad and what made it worse the fact that i was a big time picker. Because of that now i am "blessed" with (scars/marks/etc). My dermatoligist had diagnosed my acne as moderate to severe.
It seems that through the years i have used every variation of every regimen on the planet including medicine, diet...etc.
Dermatologists could not helpand i stopped going after they would eventually prescribe Accutane because did not want to lose the rest of my hair.
Long stort - i have found this regiment and just want to share it with you, it did give me NORMAL skin, not perfect skin, but NORMAL skinwith single pimple every once in a while.
    1) SOAK once a day (twice a day if severe) in baths of SEA SALT purchased at local grocery store. Get water as hot as you can stand it, add approx 30 ounces of sea salt, and soak for 30 minutes. Do not get out until your skin begins to prune and it is important to follow otherwise you may not get good results.
    2) GENTLY exfoliate with synthetic brush while soaking in tub .
I take very long and hot showers after the nightly soak, using Neutrogena Body Wash.
Results are as follows for me: Its been about 6 weeks......about a 65% VISUAL improvement.

i was on accutane for 3 month myself, i think that this medication should be last thing one could think about while treating acne.
