  • Cortizone for Acne good or Bad

Cortizone, Cortizone 10 Plus or other steroids users are wellcome here to share their stories with use of steroid treatments for acne

Lately we started receiving many letters from people who use steroids such as cortizone for their acne treatments. To make short answer to most of the e-mails it is suggestd that Steroid creams should never be used for too long because of the side effects. The use of steroids can have severe and irreversible side effects. The steroids should never be applied in thick amounts, and certainly not more than once or twice a day (IF directed to do so by a doctor). Some people think that applying more is going to give better and faster results. This is not the case with not only steroids but most topical treatments. Applying more often have reverse effects and sometimes can give permanent redness, bacterial infections, thinned skin.
Scoll down and read some comments we received from people who use steroids as their acne treatment of go ahead adn ask questions related to cortizone use or other steroid creams ....

    Cysts
Yea...i am using it and you must know that Hydrocortisone is bad, you can realy get some side effects from it but when i look in the mirror and if i am at the point that i don't even want to leave my house because of my cyst then i will use it. I don't use it often, but when i do it reduces my cysts drastically.

skin discoloration and possibility of infection...
Very interesting discovery i did, it says on the lable that the cream - Cortizone-10Plus should not be applied on face at all..lol
Question: Why my derm suggested it my acne??
..and also, from possible side effects, it says that the cream can cause damage (discoloration and perhaps infection) to the skin on your face...

    No dry skin
I think that Cortizone does work. It did for me at one point in life. It is still much better than using BP because cortizone has no overdrying effect but as far as the efficasy of it, it stop helping after a while...

    Cortizone
my acne is severe and its been in this stage for last 3 yeras i have acne on my back shoulders as well. When i came to the end and desided that noting out of the different acne treatments was helping me the cortizone was my last resort. So i took the chances of having the side effects and started using it and now after about 6 month i am clear and hope to stay that way.

    Hi every one,
just found this article about Cortizone. I agree with the author and i fing that most people respond negatively to accutave or roaccutane on any other acne treatments which involved steroids or chemicals. Its been almost a year after i was first intoroduced to cortizone by my dermatologist. She has been treating my acne for as far back as i remember and the cortizone was in her mind but since i was back then still a teenager she did not recommend it to me as it could have some side effects. I think that the doctor should really decide what best treatment can be used because i myself is not that knowlegable about all the acne products available out there and thei efficasy and the side effects as well.

    cortizone question
My daughter is now on cortizone almost a month and I haven't seen much of an improvement. Beleive it or not but her acne has gotten worse since she started the cortizone treatment. Is this a common problem? Do any of you use any other skin products with cortizone?

    cortinone or acutane
cortizone or accutane??!! - NO MORE!! 2 courses of each of those things were a biggest waste of money for me. Luckily, I didn't get any bad side effects though. But my lips were always chapped, the dry mouth and terrile taste in it at all time. Horrible experience with accutane and cortizone.
usualy, after using them the acne come back and it come back much worse so did mine. So cross your fingers is u thinking of using it.

    cortizone worked for me
Cortizone worked beautifully for me but unfortunately my acne came back after the 2 courses of it. I had to stop using the cortizone because it is unsafe to stay on it for too long.
