Cortizone for Acne good or Bad

Yea...i am using it and you must know that Hydrocortisone is bad, you can realy get some side effects from it but when i look in the mirror and if i am at the point that i don't even want to leave my house because of my cyst then i will use it. I don't use it often, but when i do it reduces my cysts drastically.

I too use it and i think using the cortizone often can really mess you up.
Every now and then shouldn,t be a problem, i only apply it to a BIG pimple ..LOL!. I

Very interesting discovery i did, it says on the lable that the cream - Cortizone-10Plus should not be applied on face at all..lol
Question: Why my derm suggested it my acne??
..and also, from possible side effects, it says that the cream can cause damage (discoloration and perhaps infection) to the skin on your face...

I think that Cortizone does work. It did for me at one point in life. It is still much better than using BP because cortizone has no overdrying effect but as far as the efficasy of it, it stop helping after a while...

my acne is severe and its been in this stage for last 3 yeras i have acne on my back shoulders as well. When i came to the end and desided that noting out of the different acne treatments was helping me the cortizone was my last resort. So i took the chances of having the side effects and started using it and now after about 6 month i am clear and hope to stay that way.

i am afraid to use cortizone because of so many reported side effects, rather give a shot to AcneZap lotin.

My daughter is now on cortizone almost a month and I haven't seen much of an improvement. Beleive it or not but her acne has gotten worse since she started the cortizone treatment. Is this a common problem? Do any of you use any other skin products with cortizone?

cortizone or accutane??!! - NO MORE!! 2 courses of each of those things were a biggest waste of money for me. Luckily, I didn't get any bad side effects though. But my lips were always chapped, the dry mouth and terrile taste in it at all time. Horrible experience with accutane and cortizone.
usualy, after using them the acne come back and it come back much worse so did mine. So cross your fingers is u thinking of using it.

Cortizone worked beautifully for me but unfortunately my acne came back after the 2 courses of it. I had to stop using the cortizone because it is unsafe to stay on it for too long.

i am just few days in the programm, and just little confuced about the makeup. should i used the same i always use or it needs to be changed or stoped?

Yesterday I visted my doctor for a routine physical. The nurse noticed a large cyst like pimple on my chin and asked me what had I been using on my face. I told her about a creme that had been prescribed to me by my derm. She advised me to go buy some Cortizone 10 Plus with Aloe and use it on my face. She told me that she had been using it for a while now and her skin is clear & beautiful. I went to the store last night and purchased the creme. I washed my face and put the cortizone on my entire face. This morning when I woke up all the bumps on my face had gone down, and the large cyst on my chin is practically GONE! I have been battling acne for about 3yrs now, so to find something that finally works is great. I've read the back of my cortizone box and it doesnt say anything about not putting it on your face. It just says avoid your eyes and mouth (http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100949&id=prod4470) Thats the link for the creme that I am using. After reading up on using this product on my face I probably wont be using it everyday on my entire face. I will just use it when necessary... but it does work =)

i stopped useng Cortizone and switched to Drying Lotion Acne Zap for few reasons. No side effects and Avne Zap realy realy good on inflamed acne. i don't know why but i have almost every day inflammations on my face and just one drop of Acne Zap cleared them out over night. Also, unlike Cotizone, AcneZap remove acne withou leaving any post acne marks. Its good because i have some marks left on my skin and its a pain in the neck to get rid of them.

cortisone was helping me with my acne but as many people noticed it stops doing anything after a few weeks, maybe because i have very severe acne and cortisone is only for mild acne i am not sure but main thing is that it started clearing my skin after only couple of days and than just stopped, crazy...don't know what to think, any ideas?
